Default Telco services on Asterisk platform.

Good day.

I have the opportunity to provide Telco type phone services with my current company "WISP".
We operate on a WIFI / Cable access network and our customers have all proper broadband speeds to our NOC.
I am currently using a number of Asterisk Voip gateway servers for outbound calls and was hoping to continue using these servers for my new services I need to add.
The new services is basically numbering, we have been allocated a range of numbers by our Telco regulator of our "newly Voip liberated country".

We have to arrange for interconnection agreements with our local voice providers for local traffic.

Will I be able to provide services to customers where each have they’re own Telco recognized phone number, setting up trunks for incoming and outgoing traffic to various Telco GSM/PSTN providers and all this working with actual phone numbers using my asterisk servers.

Or will I have to go for expensive hardware.

Any information / tips will be great full.
Thanks
C

How many customers are you talking about? Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, millions?

Asterisk doesn't scale well when used as a gateway.

We have +/- 1000 users on the network and 1000 numbers been allocated I don’t think we going to grow bigger than 5000 users in the next 5 years.

Our footprint probably cover only about 300 000 people where 10 to 20% of that been internet phone users.

Thanks & Regards
