Default SPA-3000 does not accept pin when calling from Asterisk@Home

I apologize if my problem had been discussed before but the search function always returns many irrelevant posts.

My original setup works : PAP2 and SPA-3000 both registers with FWD. SPA-3000 is installed in HK as a PSTN gateway with pin protection. I call the FWD number in HK, enter the pin and I can call out locally.

I moved on to Asterisk@home 2.8. SPA-3K will accept the pin if my outbound trunk is SIP. If I register with FWD for an IAX2 trunk, SPA3K answers. No matter how slow I enter the pin, it does not know the pin has been entered.

My IAX2 outbound defintion is the bare minimal with :

username=xxx
secret=yyy
host=iax2.fwdnet.net

register string is : usernumberassword@iax2.fwdnet.net

I have tried adding fromdomain, fromuser etc but nothing worked.

Is what I want to do possible? Thanks in advance.

Matt

Default RE: SPA-3000 does not accept pin when calling from Asterisk@

This sounds like dtmf issue - the keys you press on your phone are not forwarded to your SPA. Add dtmf=rcf2833 and dtmfmode=rfc2833. If that does not work try to replace rfc2833 by info or inband. One of them should work.

Hi,

Thanks for your input.

Unfortuately, I have tried all combinations of dtmfmode options. Nonetheless, I tried your suggestion by combining both dtmf and dtmf with all 3 possibilities. None works.

The closest I can find is http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=6011&nbn=29 but jitterbuffer=no does not fix it either.

If I mess up the quote, please let me know the correct way. Here is an excerpt of the debug log. Digits 2 and 3 were what I pressed but the beep continues :
