Default SPA 3000 always answers before * can do anything

Hi,

After messing around with an underpowered PC in almost every way, I finally got Asterisk installed and running (on a Pentium 133, 32M RAM, 1G HD) and it all seems to be fine.

One problem I'm having trouble resolving is that the SPA wont talk to Asterisk until it has answered the call, then * plays a US ring tone (I'm in AU). I have the "PSTN Answer Delay" option on the SPA set to 5 secs. Setting it to a large value (120) just has the phone ring out and * never sees anything.

Most of the setup was generated with the * wizard (Great tool )

I dont personally have a problem with it answering, but I fell it may confuse callers when the ring tone changes, and may annoy some when they get charged for a call the they may have thought never got answered.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get the SPA to pass info to * without answering, I would be very gratefull.

Andrew

Thanks for the link Michael,

I haven't had enough time to thouroughly investigate it, but it looks like I'm having a similar problem to some of the other replies to the thread where * doesnt seem to want to register the 3K.

I'll check it out in more detail whan I have some more time. Im trying to get * to talk to freecall via nat and it wont cooperate. No outbound audio. It's like I need an outbound proxy, but * doesnt appear to have one.

I'll post my results when I have looked into it.

Thanks,
Andrew
