Question SIP BYE Hungup Zap causing fast busy...arrrg!

Caller - fxs channel bank - t1 card - * - SIP - Voicepulse - Callee

When Callee hangs up a SIP BYE packet is sent back to * and at this time the link between asterisk and voicepulse is closed as well as the link between asterisk and zap (caller) however the Caller remains holding the phone and a fast busy is heard. This becomes quite annoying as the agent is required to write up call notes and describe the customers issues before the line is physically hung up all while a fast busy is going off.

When using another provider which doesn't send back a SIP BYE when the callee hangs up the zap line says open until the caller hangs up.

Any clues how I could keep the zap line from disconnecting when the bye is recieved? Or is there some way to handle the sip bye packet some other way than the default destroy all channels. Even suppressing the fast busy would be acceptable.

Thanks!

Default Re: SIP BYE Hungup Zap causing fast busy...arrrg!

A work around was to use the g option in my Dial cmd. After hangup the dialplan goes to the next priority which was wait(600). The SIP side of the call was closed, but the zap side of the call remains open allowing the agent time to close the call notes and not hear the fast busy.
