Do you want the hold music from a Radio on Line-in or from a streaming station over the internet? Using a Line-in jack and connecting a radio should be fairly easy, but using a Streaming station was something I wondered about. Whilst is should also be simple, I had worries about bandwidth on my ADSL line. Carrying both phone calls and a Radio stream, I was worried about congestion. Have you thought about this?

Thanks for your response. What I want to happen is that when somebody calls me, while they are on hold they would hear sounds or music coming from a radio station. Can you help me out how to do it. Also I am intersted to know both of the set up you mentioned if it is okey for you to tell me how..
Thanks,
Rowell |

Rowell | Hi Roswell,
Well, I've posted every config file I have, so hopfully you can get things from there. If not, let me know.
Music comes down to a question. Is that music from a Radio plugged into your Asterisk server, or do u want hold music coming from an internet stream? |

| | RE: Re: How to set up the music on hold direct form online r rowell, have you searched for this solution? http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asteri...siconhold.conf is a good start. Specifically the "Shoutcast Music On Hold" part.
Also, Bon, he did state online radio station so I'm guessing he meant streaming - which how to setup is on the wiki and well documented on the net.

| | Bon,
This is a friendly place. I think you misread isepic. I didn't see any malice in his post, and haven't seen it anywhere else he's posted before. There've been very few flame wars on this site, which is most welcome, so I hope people can keep things civil.
Thanks,

Last thing I want is a flame war, it just fills pages with junk. Sorry, just tired (4am here) and have been working on the SPA3k issues and Asterisk junk. Probs should sleep, but until I get the SPA ringing with callerid perfectly I'm not sleeping.

| | Actually all I reallly meant by that was I also missed the fact that he said "on-line radio station' - so I was thinking you missed it too by asking if it was streaming or not - so I was just pointing it out, that he did in fact say streaming - but he never answerd you (which is where I missed it) - until I went back to the original post, and that's where I saw streaming... btw, if using the new version 1.2 or 1.21 (native moh) this is where I placed mine... (of course, the default => quie... is all on one line--its truncated here).. also sorry for the such long url of the radio station I have, its pulled from a swf file and I guess they are trying to make it hard for folks to find). Code: [classes]
default => quietmp3nb:/var/lib/asterisk/moh-native/frequence,http://www.live365.com/play/322045?LID=807-usa&lid=807-usa&SaneID=67.117.89.22-1110847230368&AuthType=NORMAL&VisitCount=3&bitrate=256&now=1113619579760
