Default Ringing during call and low incoming audio

Hi,
I have Asterisk 1.2 and a Sipura 3000. Everything seems to work well with the exception of low incoming audio and intermittant ringing during active calls. I have increased both FXS Port Input and Outout Gain. They are both currently set to 3. This increase helped but it could be better. If I raise it any more I cannot make an outgoing call. After the second ring the connection resets.

Also, during an active call the phones intermittantly ring. This is a very short burst and may occure 1 to 2 times during a 15 to 20 min call.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Rick

What do you mean by "intermittant ringing"? Is this coming from the phone you are using, or is the ringing coming from phones that are not in use at the time? What country are you in? Exactly what type of phone call are you making when this happens? Are you calling from an Asterisk extension to the phone line connected to PSTN Line of your SPA-3000?

It's very hard to isolate your problem without any such details in your posting. When you read previous postings you will get a feel for what level of detail gets the best diagnoses. With more detail from you we should be able to start in on your problem.

I'm in US.
Sipura 3000 PSTN connected to incoming analog line (POTS)
Sipura 3000 Line 1 connected to all analog phones in the house.
Asterisk is controlling all incoming an outgoing calls.
When I make a call from any analog phone to outside PSTN line.
All phones are effected.
During call the phones ring every now and then. Short burst.
The phone I'm using doesn't ring the ringer but can here ring in receiver.
Any number dialed on phones goes out PSTN line.
Any incoming call from PSTN routes to all phones. Simple setup.

I found another bit of info that might help. I noticed when watching the console during a call, every time the phones ring this line appears:

Code:
-- Attempting native bridge of SIP/line1-39d6 and SIP/phone1-2425
Again, this happens during an established call. Incoming or outgoing.

How do you have PSTN Line set up? Did you use the Voxilla SPA-3000/Asterisk configuration wizard to set up Line 1 as an extension and PSTN Line as a trunk of the Asterisk? Have you disabled PSTN Ring Thru to Line 1 on the SPA-3000 (the wizard does this automatically)?

I used the wizard. I think need I to stop the native bridging attempts. I have set 'canreinvite' to 'no' in the sip.conf file. That didn't help.
