Default Question about phone registration

Hello

I have 2 Polycom 1 IAXY s100i and a SPA sipura 841 and I have succeded with no problem to registrate them to my asterisk....here comes the problem. The Asterisk seems to loose the registration of the phones and it just happens with no particular timegap. One moment it says when I do 'sip show peers' that all of them are registrated and other times some of them are 'unspecified'. I know that I in my Polycom config file can set a value for how often the Polycoms should registrate themself and I have done that......but why is the asterisk loosing the information regarding registrated phones?

Everything works like crap for the moment so I will be very glad for your help.

Default RE: Question about phone registration

My 841 on my LAN has never missed a registration, but connecting to the other asterisk box at the office, it drops (only on weekends for some reason) for at least an hour at a time once per weekend. You could try adjusting the registration time setting (Register Expires on the Ext # tab) so that it registers more often. I haven't tried sending a call to it when it's unregistered however, maybe it would kick back in, or if you set Ans Call Without Reg it might just answer anyway. Also going down that road; Make Call Without Reg should allow you to make your SPA send info to the asterisk box and might kick the registraion in as well. Sounds like you have some playing to do.

My phone just went un-registered and I tried to call it and it didn't ring. Asterisk box says: Unable to create channel of type 'SIP'

I find that the best success in configuring any Sipura device for use with an Asterisk is to use the Voxilla Wizard, choosing FWD as my service provider. I load the configuration into the Sipura and then manually change the server address from fwd.pulver.com to the address of the Asterisk and the Sipura comes to life.
