| Hi, Can anyone point me in the direction of info on setting up extensions.conf patterns for pstn calls in the UK (British Telecom network)? I have googled around for some while and only found a few bits and pieces on this Thanks, Ben. |

| The following covers everything (as far as I've used it for the last 2 yrs) in the UK: 0[1278]XXXXXXXXX [2-8]XXXXX First Line covers all out of local area (i.e with a NWD vode), mobile or special numbers: e.g 01274: Bradford 0207: London 07XXX: Mobiles 0800: Freephone etc etc 087/084: Special rate numbers. all uk numbers are 4 0r 5 digit NWD code, followed by 6 or 7 digit phone number: e.g. 0131 123 4567 0207 123 4567 [secial case for London and possibly few other locations) 01224 123 456 0788 123 4567 0800 123 4567 etc etc etc. This excludes 0900 calls which I believe are premium rate calls, though they can be inclded by changing adding 9 to the square brackets [12789] The second line takes care of local dialling, so you don't need to dial the NWD code for your local area, I get this to work in conjunction with the "Dial Rules" in the trunk: I live in a 5 digit NWD code area, so my phone number is actually a 6 digit number. So, the dial pattern in the route catches ANY 6 digit number starting with 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, will be sent thru to my UK trunk, which will then add 01274 (my NWD code) to the number and dial thru. 01274+XXXXXX 0[1278]XXXXXXXXX

| Important: Don't forget 999 [& any other required operator services]. Its been a while since I was in UK [192 r.i.p.] but you may also need 100, 150 [BT sales?] 15x [BT faults?] and the 118xxx crowd... I don't use UK pstn, so don't have a dialplan to offer. |
