Default How to configure AG-168 for use with Asterisk

I recently purchase an Ag-168 ATA device that I wanted to use with Asterisk. It has a Line jack and a phone jack. I thought it was going to be something similar to the SPA-3000. I got it the other day and I'm still having issues configuring it. Has anyone succesfully configured one to use with Asterisk?

Thanks

Pat

get a bin file --- for iax2 and it works after that .... dtmf should not be in band ---- choose the other one. I tested one it worked from my home and went and installed at my parents .... made phone call. Now I am at the asterisk box and do see a registeration info .... once they come home I am going to see incase they have unpluged or something .... I will report what I find later

you can get the bin file at:
http://www.aredfox.com/edownloadsiax2.htm

This is for the AG-168V, or AG-168Q
if you have 2 rj11 jacks use the V version, if you only have 1 rj11 jack use the Q version of the firmware.
Do not use iLBC codec with firmware 1.42 it does not work, wait until version 1.43 gets released for iLBC, do not enable iLBC in the menus.

If you know of a good source for purchasing at a low price the AG-168V or AG-168Q please let me know.

Ok I upgraded the unit and I am able to make calls to other asterisk extensions. Do you have any tips on how to configure the PSTN port? Will this unit operate like the Sipura SPA-3000, where I can forward an incoming call fromn the PSTN to the Asterisk server?

It is not the same as spa-3000 it lets the phone connect to the ata make calls using either one port for out going --- you can put a specail dialing like 9 0r something.

if you go the the ata web interface you will see a place.

That ata is at my parents home and I looked at the setting and cannot recall completly
