Default Asterisk and TCP error durring sip trunk connection

I'm attempting to setup a telasip trunk within asterisk. Asterisk attempts to connect to it, but gives up... here is what a see when doing an -vvvc:

early on durring startup:

when everything is ready to go:

here is what I have in sip.conf:

under [general]:

register => <myusername>:<mypassword>@telasip-gw


[telasip-gw]
type=peer
host=gw3.telasip.com
qualify=yes
insecure=very
context=inboundgen
username=<myusername>
secret=<mypassword>

any ideas?
