Default Asterisk on Mac OSX

I've read (on voipinfo.org) that Asterisk runs on OSX. Can anyone verify this - have you done it, or know someone who has?

Anything really different between a Linux install and a Mac install? Are there any config guides specific to OSX ?

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

Mac OSX can compile Unix applications, which is what Asterisk is. I would imagine the installation procedure and instructions wouldn't change on the account of Mac OSX, though I'm pretty sure the hardware specific stuff (e.g. Digium cards) probably won't work under OSX.

Yes, does work, done it myself. There are certain utilities on OSX (remember, it is BSD Unix) that make it easier, but I am no OSX expert.

From Apple's own website (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...formacosx.html):
Quote:
The MacOSX build of Asterisk comes as a MacOSX install package and it installs in only 10 seconds on a G4 867MHz. Associated AppleScript clickable script apps for basic control tasks and Cocoa based GUI Setup Assistants are also available (Like Asterisk, licensed under the GPL as free software).

Yup, it runs fine...I have it on a G5 1.8DP with a sip3000. still have a lot to learn but It does work. Don't know if you can do upgrades but think not.

It is possible to upgrade if you install Xcode Tools, upgrade Bison and compile on your own.
