Default Asterisk loses SIP registration with Broadvoice

Hello,

I am using Asterisk (passing through Sipura 3000 to Asterisk) to dial-out through Broadvoice. Everything works fine but after a while (less than 24 hours at times, but haven't determined any pattern) when I issue a "sip show registry", it shows an "UNREGISTERED" state for sip.broadvoice.com and I can't call out until I issue a RELOAD, then things work fine again for a while.

Has anyone run across this issue? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I've been running into the same problem as you describe. Im using Chicago Proxy (if that matters).

My Comcast Cable connection is ultra stable and never goes down. Its real odd. Not even sure where to being troubleshooting.

Stevo, what magic are you performing that allows you to choose the BV proxy you use? Whenever I try to choose my proxy my registration fails.

I choose my proxy by entering the IP address of the selected proxy in the /etc/hosts file ... for example:

147.135.0.128 sip.broadvoice.com #for the DCA proxy

Then in the sip.conf file reference sip.broadvoice.com.

As I mentioned in the original posting, the registration works, but after a while it loses the registration and I have to RELOAD to get things working again. Sounds like others are having a similar issue. Any suggestions??

I am not seeing this instability. Here are snippets from my sip.conf file.

register=3115552368:a1B2c3D4e5:3115552368@sip.broa dvoice.com/0003115552368

[out-broadvoice-2368]
type=peer
host=sip.broadvoice.com
fromdomain=sip.broadvoice.com
fromuser=3115552368
secret=a1B2c3D4e5

canreinvite=no
insecure=very
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
allow=alaw
auth=md5,plaintext
dtmfmode=inband

p.s. Thank you for the /etc/hosts hint. It will let me force my registration to LAX gateway.

I do that to absolutely prevent any confusion between this inbound routing label and any real dialed number or extension. Even though they are in different contexts and should never meet, it proves to be a good debugging tool.

I just upgraded to the 1.0.7 build of Asterisk and I continue to have the same problem. I lose my registration with sip.broadvoice.com after X hours (less than 24 hours I think). Anyone?

Thanks!

Any firewall/NAT device between your server and the internet?

Yes, I do have a Belkin wireless router (using DSL) that is handling NAT for my internal PCs including Asterisk. The internal PCs do not lose their assigned internal IP addresses. As I mentioned before, the registration (and service) works for a while but then loses the registration. The router is configured to keep-alive the connection to the DSL WAN. Any ideas on what I can check on the wireless router/NAT to make sure that isn't causing the problem?

Thanks again!
