hello all - I am a new user here and I dont know much about VOIP - Please forgive me if you find me asking to many questions.

I have downloaded Asterisk@Home - ISO - I will install on a Linux.

What I want is the following :-

I wanted to install Asterisk@Home on my linux machine..

What is the next step after that, I am looking to get a virtual number or a DID for Pakistan/Karachi.. Where I can give that number to my family in Pakistan so they can call me here in the US.

What is the procedure and what necessary steps do I need to take in order to succedd, I will really appreciate your detail answers along with some steps.

There is no substitute for reading through the postings here in this forum, as well. As you read the postings here (in the Asterisk and the Other Providers forums) you will find that both your Asterisk and your Karachi questions have already been asked and answered right here.
