We were having some issues with NATted SIP clients working properly with Asterisk which was also behind a NAT, so I moved the Asterisk box into the DMZ and gave it a public IP address and reconfigured the SIP config files. I'm using Sipura SPA-2000s on my office phones. They register with Trixbox and incoming calls and outgoing calls work fine.... for maybe 5 minutes. After about 5 minutes, incoming PSTN calls no longer ring the phone. I hear 4 rings on my cell phone when calling in, then it goes to voicemail, my SIP phone never rings until I reboot the Sipura. This is happening on all of our phones. When I reboot, I see the following in the Asterisk log: -- Registered SIP '502' at 74.92.16.185 port 25653 expires 3600 -- Registered SIP '501' at 74.92.16.185 port 25707 expires 3600 I never see them de-register, the Sipura still shows them as registered: Line 1 Status Hook State: On Registration State: Registered Last Registration At: 7/23/2007 13:21:01 Next Registration In: 2796 s Message Waiting: Yes Call Back Active: No But the phones just no longer ring. I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like the mappings in your NAT router are timing out and being removed. I don't have a SIP2000 but on the PAP2T there is a selection on each line for "NAT keep alive enable" and there is an entry on the SIP tab for "NAT Keep Alive Intvl". You might want to check you settings for those (or the equivalent ones for the 2000).

thanks! I just found those settings and enabled them. I'll know shortly if this worked but not enabling those settings seems to be an obvious issue.
