| If I am reading it correctly I believe he wants to be able to have the same extension registered on more than one device (like an ATA and softphone) at the same time so if for example some one dials his extension both phones would ring. If that is what you are wanting then the easiest way I have found to accomplish it is to use ring groups in AAH. Each device would be registered on its own extension (ex 7201 and 7202) and you would create a ring group (ex 701) in which list the extensions you want dialed. You would then direct your incoming calls to extension 701 which would in turn dial both 7201 and 7202. |

| Yes, what I want is the same extension registered on more than one device which is a standard very useful feature of a SIP Proxy. The ring group solution is as a easy to implement workaround but does not offer the same flexibility. |

| I dunno if this will work since I've never done it but doesn't the new AMP supports the new device/password instead of extension/password? Maybe you can set it up as device/password and have it set to the same extension number? Like I said, I've never done this so this is just a "theory" |

| The idea behind is to have several devices registered on the same extension so they will all ring when you call this extension. Very useful when you want to be called by yourname@sipdomain. It works well with a proxy but the link with Asterisk is not really simple. |

| Asterisk doesn't natively support multiple registrations. Whether or not AMP supports it is irrelevant.

| The commonly implemented workaround for this is to set up a Ring Group including all of the extensions you wish to ring and point the inbound URI to that Ring Group.
