Default Accessing VM Remotely

I am trying to get it so that when I call into the phone line going into my * box that I can press 0 during my vm message to allow me to access the voicemail system so I can check my messages. Has anyone set this up or know of an alternate way to do this? How do others check their vm while not in the office/home?

I have a couple of methods, none of which require complex dialplan logic.

First, get the vm to email relay working. Check your email via web mail. Now you can fetch vm from any pc on the web.

Alternatively, setup a soft phone client on your laptop pc. Have it login to your * server from your location using its own extension. Now you can dial the vm recall remotely.

#3 - setup a free account with SIPPhone or FWD. Allow it to connect to your * server. Use www.myphonebooth.com to call back to your server from remote locations.

There are myriad ways to do this....

Michael

I was able to get it working this way. Press * while the message is playing and it drops to the exten => a line

extensions.conf

[fromPSTN]

exten => s,1,Zapateller(answer)
exten => s,2,Ringing
exten => s,3,Dial(${FWDRINGS},15,Ttm)
exten => s,4,Voicemail,u${FWDVMBOX}
exten => s,5,Hangup
exten => s,102,Voicemail,b${FWDVMBOX}
exten => s,103,Hangup
exten => a,1,VoicemailMain,1000
exten => a,2,Hangup
